Mechanical Engineering
I am participating in the Summer Engineering and Technology Study Tour (SETS) in South Africa.

My family is from the Middle East, so I’ve been to Northern Africa, but South Africa is very different and I am excited to go somewhere totally foreign to me. The goal of the program is to get a better understanding of businesses in South Africa and to learn about the challenges the country faces. We’ll be learning about business and engineering in an entirely different context from what we know in the U.S. I’m excited to see how the technical skills I’ve acquired at Stanford apply in the real world, and I’m looking forward to learning about the challenges in the South African business and engineering community. There’s so much to learn from putting yourself in someone else’s shoes.
